Olivella is in the Centre of the Garraf Park, and among vineyards and palms one finds this picturesque town of little more than 3,000 habitants. The district of Olivella consist of the village, several country houses and six urbanisations. The village is situated on a small hill (Puig Cabot 211 m) and its house are grouped around the new church. Olivella has a rich variety of festivals and traditions, as well as the possibility of enjoying excellent Catalan cuisine, all within a setting of natural peace and quiet and beautiful unique scenery.
For groceries you can go to Sitges with some bigger supermarkets. In the urbanication Mas Mila next to Mas Mestre you will find a very small shop. In St. Pere the Ribes a bigger supermarket is located.
The old village Olivella is nice to visit. It has an old church and some nice buildings. The village and surrounding (the area of El Garraf) is very popular for hikers. In the old village you also will find the restaurant “Gabriëls” (red house in the center). The restaurant is run by Gabriel, which appearance is already entertaining. In the restaurant typical French food is served. It’s not expensive, a perfect place for a nice lunch or maybe dinner in the evening.
Palau Novella is an Budhist temple in Olivella. It’s a nice ride trough the winefields and interesting for a quick visit. see link
